Unhappy PCMforLess trouble again, file not found?

Well I got all the kinks worked out in my progam loading thanks to you guys. Now I have ran into another problem. I tried emailing Bryan a couple of days ago but haven't heard back from him yet. Anyway, my buddy has a 95 TA and I had a program made specificaly fo his car that Brian emailed me. We got the car hooked up and opened the program and were able to copy his car's PCM memory to our disk. Then we go to load the program and enter flshprog and then the words "file not found" came up. We tried a few more times but to no prevail. I went back and viewed my A drive and it shows that the file is on there but for some reason its not being recognized. We check the spelling and everything we could think of. You guys got any recommendations?

First off, you'd better copy that file to the hard drive before flashing anything. Floppy drives are about as reliable as an appointment with a crack ***** on Saturday night. Make sure the file copies OK to the hard drive. What is the name of the software you are using to flash the PCM?

Agreed, floppy diskettes are crap and die often. Get your file off there and put it in the TUNERCAT dir where your FLSHPROG resides, this is where it looks for files I dont believe there is even a way to have it look on the A drive.

Plus, a diskette drive is slow as crap, you do NOT want any delays in reading a file to the PCM, 400ms delay and your PCM is TOAST.

Find your FLSHPROG.EXE and put your BIN in the same dir.

Happy Programming

is it PCMforless trouble or user trouble??? nah, i agree that you need to get it in your hard drive. try that and see if it helps. also make sure you have all other programs turned off before you attempt to flash the PCM. i always read my PCM two or three times before i attempt to flash it. maybe i'm just a little paranoid about messing up my computer, who knows.

Nothing wrong with a little paranoia, you "wont" fry the PCM that way at least. I usually do a read before I do a write, if I'm doing multiple writes in the same day one read is good enough for me, so long as I know the cable is secure etc (mine isn't hard wired).

Thanks guys for the help. My friend and I tried again and loaded "a" program but it didn't do squat. I tried calling Bryan but got no answer and he hasn't responded to my emails yet.

bad95z28, most likely its user trouble since something has gone wrong both times. Heres the copy of the email I sent Bryan if you guys have time to read it. It details the problems I'm having.

I have been trying to load Bret Manzella's program onto his car that I received earlier this week. I have yet to be successful. I have followed the directions precisely just the way I loaded mine but I can't get the program to load right. The first time I tried to load the program onto his car, I read the his car's PCM to the disk successfully but when I went to load the program and typed in flshprog when it called for the file, I got a message that said something like "file not found." In the list of files present in the box above where it asks about what file an such, the file "bmans.BIN" and "flshread.BIN" were present but not "flshprog.BIN" (I can't remember if I spelled them right) This was two nights ago. This afternoon we tried again and when we did we read the car's memory again and attempted to load the program. This time when I typed in "flshprog" (without the extension) I was able to load "a" program. In the box above, along with bmane.BIN and flshread.BIN, flshprog.BIN appeared. I say "a" because upon completion, the speedo wasn't calibrated for the 373's, and the "ABS inopt" light still came on. I'm thinking that maybe the program I loaded was just his stock program?

I have opened my A drive and made sure all of the files were there on the disk but I still can't get the program to load. I will attach the program that you sent me so you know which one I'm speaking of. Thanks for your help.
