PCMforless firmer shifts or Trans-Go???

My buddy wants to get their tune. He asked wether he should get an aftermarket shift kit or if he should just get the firmer shift tune from PCM. He's got a TQ converter going in soon so he definately needs to firm up the shifts. Does anyone have examples of the difference between the two? Also does just the tune have any drawbacks vs the shift kit? Thanks a lot

I would personally go with the Transgo Shift kit...Its made to shift hard/crisp..Goin' the PCMforless way, he just ups the line pressure, which is bad, and that builds up heat...which is also very bad..

I agree, your better off putting a shift kit in.
I just don,t like the idea of upping the line pressure its like cutting corners and taking the easy way out and paying for it in the long run.
Get a Trans Go shift kit put in and it will last alot longer and give you more consistency.

Thanks for the input, that's what he's gonna do. Makes me glad I went the route I did, I was beginning to wonder if I didn't need the Trans-Go.

Thanks all,
Jason
