most people on this board will agree that getting ur pcm tune from them is one of the best, if not the best, bang for you buck mod you can do... no matter what level of modification you are at.

from what i know tons of people have gone with pcmforless. i did a poll a while back seeing if people went with pcmforless or with madz28(another custom tuner who frequently comes up). the poll was just about dead even showing that they both do amazing work. i personally went with pcmforless

Theres two things that beat pcm4less or madz28. Dyno tuning with a wideband. or tuning yourself with lots of datalogging and a wideband. both of which are costly. Dyno tuning you could easily spend 500$ on and thats if you get a good deal. Tuning yourself you're looking at 460$ minimum for all the equipment and software you'd need. Then you'd have to know how to tune it. 175$ for a pcm4less tune is a great deal. and since they do so many mail-order tunes they are usually spot-on unless you have a custom cam.

How do you flash your tunes if they email them?

I knew you had to get a cable but I figured maybe there was some other program for flashing (btw you shouldn't need to buy the full tunercats as they produce a flash only version for 20$)

I wouldn't call pcmforless or madz28's tunes "guesswork" It's more like they have tuned cars for that long that they can almost get it that spot on without the dyno. Granted it is not comparable to a dyno tune, but it's a lot cheaper, and is def. worth the money. If you have bolt-ons or a very mild cam, I would suggest a mail order tune. anything above that I would get a mail order tune to drive it around on, and then get it dyno'd.

Bryan Herter at pcmforless has been doing my turning for about three years now and he does an outstanding job. His tuning "is not" guess work, it is based "sound" performance baselines and experience from LT engine dyno testing. I believe some of that dyno testing was with Chad Golen. And, I'm sure Ion also does outstanding tuning based on what I've heard.

I would trust Bryan without any doubt. He also did the program on my 96 Impala SS with no problems.
