PCM Programming Question

I already got my car programmed but now I am installing a 3.42 gears. Is it ok if I pre-program my car with the 3.42 setting before I install it? What do you guys think, or should I wait after the 3.42 is installed.

According to the shop, it will take them at least 1 day to do my gears and when I leave out of there, I will have to ship out my pcm. I will unable to drive my car for at least 3-4 days.

do you have an a4 or t56? if you have a t56 the only thing wrong will be that your speedo will be off. The a4 will have the same speedo problem, and the shift poits will be off. You may also have problems hitting the rev limiter if you go wotat redline. if you just want to go to the shop and back. I would go ahead and get it tuned.
just my .02

yes i will cause no damage. Like kory said shift points will be off in an auto and speedo will be off. It also will add less mileage than you actually drive(not bad but illegal)
