pcm not getting correct coolant temperature
My coolant fans on my car have not worked for quite sometime now. I finally got around to looking at them the other day. I hooked up auto tap and let the car warm up. When my needle on the gauge was almost at redline the computer was only reading 208f. I replaced my coolant temperature sensor and everything stayed the same. Before i started chasing wires i thought i would ask to see if anyone else had this problem before or if there might be a "quick fix".
Thanks for yalls time.

Re: pcm not getting correct coolant temperature
I replaced the one right by the waterpump... I also took a high temp thermometer and tested the coolant manually, Short of chasing wires I am pretty sure this is as far as i can go... can anyone confirm?
Thanks

Your gauge appears to be wrong. Check out the sensor in the head for it.
Re: pcm not getting correct coolant temperature
look at my above post...i tested the coolant manually with a high temperature thermometer and it was +/- 5f from what my gauge said...it can be the gauge or the sensor that for it.

Re: pcm not getting correct coolant temperature
it is going to be a different temp depending on where you check the coolant. I have my dash gauge reading the temp from the driver's side head like normal but i also have a autometer gauge reading the temp from the pass. side head and it is like 15 degrees hotter.
