Path to full bolt-on LT1...

I’ve made it to my final step of headers & 1.6 roller rockers to complete my (nearly) full bolt-on LT1 daily driver. I figure the headers might be easier to install with the valve covers off anyway, so this will all be done at the same time.

My car has 175k miles, but runs like brand new still. No idea if it’s ever been rebuilt since I have only owned it for the last year or so.

Also, I’m not planning on a cam or anything else in the future at this point & I have a few questions.

I’ve done a lot of reading over the last few weeks, & it’s a little confusing what all else I’ll need for the 1.6 RR install. At this point, I’m planning on some inexpensive SA RR’s & LT4 springs because they’re cheap & I think they’re plenty good enough with a stock cam from what I’ve read.

So, will I need anything other than the springs themselves? Will all of my stock spring accessories work with the LT4 springs? How about pushrods? I figured I would go ahead & change them out when I’m in there. If I use self aligning RR’s, can I just get new stock length pushrods, or should I wait & measure & then order pushrods?

Any other words of wisdom are welcome.

Thanks in advance. I don’t post much at all, but I do read often & I really appreciate all the info here!

One more thing I just thought of...If I'm not ever planning on a cam, should I consider the Scorpion 1.7 RR's instead of 1.6's? Thanks again, David

I would really consider installing a cam since you'll have the rockers loose and off, A hot cam kit is around 600 plus a timing gasket set which is around 10 and intake gasket set which is around 30. Is your intake leaking any where it meets the block? It would be a shame to do all the work on the rockers then shortly after you have to pull the intake for a leak. As for your springs, I think you need the lt4 retainers as well, check it out.
