This Part

Okay so I was laying underneath the car changing the oil, Bought the WIX filter for the V8 5.7l. Only to find out that the filter on the car was for a V6camaro...I KNOW the car is the LT1. The guy at the parts store swapped out the WIX filter for one that would fit what was on there. He also went on to say that they probably used an adapter and a smaller filter to get easier access...I dont know how I should feel about this. It does look like an adapter to me. Any input on that??

As well while I was down there poking around I found a part on the driver side slightly below the headers but closer to the fenderwell. It is a black plastic block shaped looking part with a spot for a connection (electrical) as well it looks like it has the same hosing as what comes from the air intake to the opti (but it is cut). Ive looked for pics but cant find any as I have no clue what to type into my search. Any idea as to what part this is? If so what would this cause being disconnected completely from the car??

If that were my car that adapter would come right off no questions asked. Put the right filter on there.

As for the second part, that kind of sounds like the AIR pump recall components.

Thats what I thought about the adapter too, but the auto parts guy said its really no biggie...so I dunno it runs fine and the oil held up pretty well throughout the 4k miles. As for the pictures I am out of town so cannot get any pictures until this weekend probably.

Any pictures of the delete parts RAM?? Or pictures of the cruise control?? Thanks for the quick responses on that.

okay so I looked up the recall parts and found this picture

It resembles the bleed off valve quiet a bit if memory serves me correctly. I will still get some pictures to double check but Im 90% on that.

As for the oil filter, is it a bigger deal then Im thinking that, that adapter is chilling in there?

WIX number should end with 060 (1 qt) or I believe 049 (1/2 qt)... I use 060...

Using a filter that's too small can result in filter element collapse - not good.
