Thumbs down PACESETTERS REVIEW (so far)

Now, I know when my car finally runs, and I'm sure that I've tightened down the bolts unaccessable by wrench, and I SOMEHOW remove the excess metal defects in 3 of my passenger side header - I will erase this post - but so far, these things have been absolutely nothing but trouble for me. If you've read my posts, some of you know what I'm talking about - but none was really the headers fault till now. How the hell do you sufficiently tighten down bolts that are unaccessable? Not to mention the header defects - I checked everything before i put them on, straight edge, coating, welds - put a couple bolts in some holes, however, what I did not do was check EVERY hole. 2 holes on the pass side are warped in the center, not coating overspray like on some, they lump inward - wtf - i stick a small allen wrench and i can feel it. I have nothing that can fix this - and im not taking them out again because that will take another day.

So, do you think that if I dont have 1 or 2 bolts bolted down on pass side i can make it for an hour long trip? Ill leak, but will i make it ok? What if i blow a gasket, can I still make it there? Once I get to FLP, I will have them fix everything. Thanks

Yes, it'll be fine. Just make sure that the others are tight.

I think he means defective bolt holes, meaning mishapen. As in perhaps the bolts wont fit in completely, properly or at all. Sounds like he was hoping it was over coat of Ceramic, but turned out to be drilled oblong or insufficiently. I've had good luck with my Hookers, I always wondered about the Pacesetter's quality...good luck man.

Re: PACESETTERS REVIEW (so far)

i have a bolt hole on my hooker shorties that is SO close to the primary i couldn't tighten it down with ym wrenches because the box end wouldn't fid on the bolt. And i can't use the open end cuz they are star bolts. The main problem is the primary curing out TOWARDS the bolt hole. Anyways, i ultimately had to spend like $8 on a single craftsmen wrench with a really thing box end casting to get at that one bolt.

Re: PACESETTERS REVIEW (so far)

I wouldn't drive them without bolts as it will leak and cause a bad noise(typical leaking header sound) The gaskets could get carbon on them and then not want to seal up. Also I would take out the bolts and then try putting those back nes in first, not tight just try putting them in then the others cause sometimes if you tighten down the others first the back ones won't go in, and the bolts should be tightened from the inner to out. I had this same problem with my hookers, then after taking the bolts out and putting them back in they fit, those headers are havey and will pull on the bolts in there, and if they're off just a little they won't fit-hopefully this is the problem, hate to see you pull the whole header.

it does not leak much - I'm not taking anything out, too late now - Ill be fine driving real easy for an hour - FLP will take care of everything when I get there.
