I installed some pacesetter LT's and now I'm trying to do the y-pipe and connect it to my flowmaster catback.

The flowmaster has a smaller diameter end which fit into the stock y pipe but does not fit the pacesetter y pipe. I guess I'd have to cut that off but if I cut the smaller end off, then the pacesetter ypipe barely reaches. Theres probably only an inch of overlap between the two.

Is that enough to clamp it? Is there an adapter I could use?

you will need to find an adapter. I have the same problem as you, but I ahvent worried about it to much since I have a 3in cutout right behind it

 

If you know the sizes of the two pipes you could order one from jegs, summit, or any online or magaizine store. Or just go to your local exhaust shop and have them cut you a piece. If none of this works, i would just take it to the shop and have them weld in a piece. I had this problem connecting my pacesetter y pipe to my hooker cat back. I ended up taking a piece of extra tube, cutting it about a foot long, and cutting a line straight down it parallel with the ground, stretching it out a little so it would fit over the two other pieces and clamping them on both sides. This left a small hole in the exhaust which i j b welded shut. This is a pretty hagard way of doing it, but it worked and is still holding to this day. Like i said though, having a shop weld in a peice would be the easiest and quickest way id say.

Mine was the same diameter. I bought a 3" ID coupler, and cut the bend out of the I Pipe at the "cat" end. Then I sleaved it and connected it to the Y pipe. It worked fine. No leaks, Sounds fine. Straight shot.
