Thumbs up Pacesetter LT's installed-fit is awesome

The fit on these headers is excellent. Both the driver's side and the passenger side slid in easily. Less than 1 minute each, without the motor jacked up. They're also pretty tight to the floor board-almost too tight. I suspect some of that has to do with the new poly motor mounts that raised the engine up some. I haven't started it yet since I'm I have 4 plug wires left to be made for my delteq.

I'm getting it dynotuned at TEA in the next couple of weeks so I'll report back.

What is the price on those headers, how do they compare to the Jet hots or Hookers?

I got them on a GP from Speed-Engineering in CA. I got the non-emissions coated for $350 and y pipe for $114. The item was drop shipped from a vendior they work for. The dealer cost is $318 for the coated LT's and $100 for the y-pipe. The cheapest I've seen now is $379 from a vendor in Texas (not sure if they are a sponsor).

I chose them because they seem to fit nicer than the hooker/jet hot variants. I also like how they have a solid #1 primary tube vs a slip fit.

Any pics? Those headers have intrigued me. I have been looking at mainly Mid's, but they seem to fit real well and offer slightly better ground clearance than the other LT's.

did you have the remove the starter? looking under the car a few weeks ago, it seemed like the driver side was believable to sneak in through the bottom, but the passenger side truely looked impossible. how high was the car off the ground? thats the only thing straying me from these

thanks for the info, keep us updated on power numbers.

I removed the starter, but mainly because I was doing the motor mounts at the same time and it would've been in the way-or at least slowed me down. Both headers went in from the bottom easily. The passenger side looked bad but I had it up in there in less than a minute.

I had the car on 6 ton jack stands up front that were raised one click. I finished hooking up the exhaust tonight-going to take it for a spin tomrorow. It finally sounds like a V8.

I'll probably contact Brent @ TEA about a dyno tune soon.

No pics yet.

I agree these headers fit great. I got both of mine in from the top. I just removed the valve covers and they went in relatively easily.

I installed Pacesetter longtubes on a friend's LS1 and the fit was good and they really weren't that much of a pain. I plan on getting these for my LT1.

yup, I did jet hots last time, and pacesetters this time....the install for the pacesetter is a bit easier. You still need to get that front end in the air and remove some accesories though (starter, alternator, steering shaft, dipstick....)

Plugs are really easy to get to, but I needed a shorty plug socket on a couple to tighten them down (hacksaw and drill bit to an off brand socket).

The only big deal is that #5 plug wire boot is close the primary tube, fortunately I have spare wire and boots should something happen.

The y-pipe fit up pretty well, especially for a mass produced piece.

Coating, not sure. However, I wasn't going to pay extra for the other brands when I've seen local guys have hooker, jet hot, ppc, and flp headers all rust.

does the dipstick have to be removed if these are installed through the top?

I removed my dipstick for a little bit more clearance, but Im not sure if it is completely necessary to remove it.
