The Pacesetter LTs go on FRIDAY!!!
The Pacesetter LTs go on FRIDAY!!!
I am so excited!!! My pacesetter LTs have came in and they go on sat. along with stage 8 locking bolts, felpro gaskets. Accel 9000 wires, platinum plugs(ac delco), and I am getting my window fixed on the driver's side(motor out)!!! I can't wait, I will tell you guys how it goes, and by the way..... is LT headers something that I will be able to tell a diff. from the seat of my pants!!!! thanks guys!!!
You'll DEFINATLY notice it. Let me know how the install goes, cause I will most likely be getting a set of PaceSetter LT's sometime soon. Once you get them on, let me know what all is involved in the install, how you like em, and how it sounds. Also, gimme a idea of your ground clearnace, It should be alot better then most long tubes from what im hearing from other board members ... Thanks
Long Tubes usually gain between 15 and 25 RWHP. I havent seen anyones before and after dyno's with PaceSetters, but they look like theyre a really nice design. Brent had a thread a while back comparing them and hookers, and overall it seems like theyre better quality. Its thicker gauge tubing, much eaiser to install, and it has better ground clearance. O, they have thicker flanges too I think ...
So far i have heard a lot about the pacesetter LT's. A lot lately. The ground clearance seems to be real good with them compared to hooker lt's and jet hot lt's. Some people say the coating is good and like the quality and some people are the total opposite. As for the design i think it looks good. They aren't equal length headers like the hookers or jet hots but they are a straighter shot. So i think the hp outcome will be about the same. I will like to see some dyno #'s from them.
You have mods so you should see some gains. I saw practically nothing with a Hooker LT swap....went over and over this last year. My car is too stock for them. I actually thought the install was straightforward. I've never seen an "easy" header install on any car. My buddy and I had my manifolds off and the headers installed in about 6 hours.
And to set the record straight, Jet-Hots and Hooker long tubes DO NOT HAVE EQUAL LENGTH PRIMARIES!!!!!
The twists and bends are to get the most length out of the primaries as possible. Pacesetters from what I know, are pretty close to equal length.

Where is the cheapest place to pick a set up the pacesetter lt's for an LT1?? I have heard that lots of headers just dont match up exactly right. For those of you that have these, how well do they hold up? Will I need anything special?

Seems to be the cheapest/only place i can find them, and plus the guy that owns the shop (i assume) is a cool guy. He is on the message boards. He is part of the community.

I will let everyone know how they go on. I am not putting them on myself, but a friend at a local muffler shop is doing it at a good price for me. I will ask him in detail how hard it is. I will be there for a little bit to help but I want be doing much. just him and another guy and he also has a lift. so the lift makes it easier. As far as the LTs go, they look great, the welds look good and the headers look very durable. I didn't get mine coated though so I don't know about the coating. I will let you guys know about the ground clearance, sound, install, and power added sat.!!! 1 day til install!! I am going to dyno next week too, and I am going to the track this weekend. I will bring back #s. thanks guys.
With a lift they should both slide in with ease from the bottom. I had my car a bit too low, and my jack sucked, and my jack stands couldn't go up too much further so i put both in from the top. Passenger side, all you have to do is remove the steering linkage and is slides in from the top. You gota play with it alittle bit, but it will go.
For the driver side...well don't do it from the top. I removeed the valve cover, unbolted the motor mounts, and jacked the engine up, and pulled it as far as i could torwards the driver side. With that done it dropped in with out a problem.
You are going to need to bend the air conditioning line in order to make them fit. I went alittle too far with that and snapped it. OOPS! I'm nto sure if you have emissions on yours or not, but i did. And with the auto, the transmission dipstick is directly inline with the EGR flange on the headers. I have yet to solve this problem. I am oging to work on it today. There is a post going on right now about it if you want to take a look.
I'm gunna try to get the dip stick out of the way enough to run the line. If that does not work i am going to make up some EGR block off plates and get rid of it all together.
Sorry for the long post guys., Any questions with the install, hit my up on AIM at RatherShort. Or Email me, at RatherShort@comcast.net. I'd be more then happy to help you out.

I just put longtubes on my 95 and the only thing I removed was the plugs, alt. , dipstick tube, and the starter.....
Never touched the motor mounts or a/c lines whatsoever.
