Pacesetter LT's

I am looking for the best place to buy these... coated LT's no emissions

What are the benefits of having no emissions headers? I know the AIR Pump and EGR Valves are dismembered from the cars, but anything else?

Do those pieces come completely off? More power? Easier install?

Re: Pacesetter LT's

It's an easier install without the AIR and EGR. I don't know if there is any real power advantage, but there's no real point in an AIR pump with no cat like you'll have with the Pacesstter Y. On the OBD 1 cars the AIR pump can be removed completely and no codes will be thrown as long as a fuse is still left in the fuse box. The EGR valve on the back of the intake as well as the tube from the passenger side manifold come completely off (block-off plates needed) The EGR solenoid should stay on until all EGR codes are removed from the computer.

No because the cat or cats are still moved.

To the original poster the only reasons to remove emissions stuff is to clean up the engine bay. No power will be gained from them. It might save you 30mins on the install not having to hook up the AIR and EGR. A simple search could of solved this.

Re: Pacesetter LT's

I got a set of the longtubes with emissions hookups. The first set they sent me were waaay off.
The first primary on the drivers side had a blow through hole on the weld.
The EGR hookup wasn't even on there. Monday morning set I guess. LOL. I sent drivers side back, they sent me 2 new ones. LOL.

Anyway, the second set, they were BEAUTIFUL, all the emissions hookups were in the right spots. I bought a pile of mandrel bent pipe and 2 of those catco cats off summit and welded up a hillbilly Y pipe. My welds suck serious A$$, LOL. I looked at a picture of slp's y pipe and made mine based on that. It's like a second collector. I guessed where the O2 bungs should go and welded up a couple close to the bends in the Y pipe. Got lucky and the passenger side O2 hooked right up. I used the rest of the O2 sensor splice kits they sent for the front O2's and patched about 5 feet of wire into the drivers side O2 sensor. It all hooked up to the stock intermediate pipe and stock exhaust. It passed PA visual and emissions too, LOL.

Re: Pacesetter LT's

Whats the difference between LS1 and LT1 style headers?

I am getting no EGR or AIR hookups for my headers... I am ridding my car of that crap. To hell with emissions, I am just going to ask Ion to tune the EGR/AIR crap out of my PCM so I read no SES lights...

Other then that, anything else?

I also heard that the no EGR/AIR makes the LT1 LT install almost as easy as LS1... that true?

LS1 headers are made for LS1 motors which have a completely diff flange and port design compared to the LT1 motor. I highly doubt having the EGR and AIR deleted would make it any easier. Its just 2 less things to install. It shouldn't take more than 15 mins a piece to hook up each.
