"Can the header tube be dented in some instead of using a different plug? Can you even use a different plug? What is exactly wrong with the air fittings on the headers, (too deep)??"

I didn't like the idea of denting a brand new coated header tube.

I used an AC plug in that cylinder and Autolites in the others.

The hole in the factory manifolds is male (inside the threaded hole that is) and mates with the female AIR tube.
The AIR fittings on the headers are a tapered female and the AIR tube is also a tapered female. The tubing ferrule I used was male (sot of ball shaped) on both sides and made the seal.

225 bucks for LT1 headers brand new ? They gotta be garbage..the paint burnt off them right away, they looked 5 yrs old in 3 days lol...my y pipe came way too short from pacesetter..i had to have the guy fabricate a longer piece, the gaskets were ****, just real crappy quality overall...and to boot the power wasnt all that impressive...save a few more bucks and buy a nice set of LT's...dont take the cheap way out like i did, you'll regret it.

Antz has a point, I would save up for LTs IF I was to do it over again.

Mine have been on for over a year now and the coating on the Y-pipe is peeling bad, but the headers themselves seem to be holding up. YES the EGR/AIR hokups were wrong and I didn't figure that out until I had stripped the fitting out and ruined the stock piece that bolts into the header I had to end up sticking nickels in the tubes and having them welded over

Also the guy at the muffler shop said the Y-pipe fit was a PITA, and I find it impossible to get one of the collector/y-pipe bolts in due to proximity to the car.

Plug access is excellent for me on all but 5, 7, and 8. Plugs 7, and 8 are easy with a socket, and a wrench, just time consuming...
Number 5 was a PITA, the best way to get it is to get a socket, and extension and wedge them between the primaries and it is still tricky after a few plug changes I have done....

I got mine coated, new, and shipped to my door for $330. That wasn't that bad of a deal and they will "Do" until I get enough time to start the LT swap

All in all I should have gone LTs in the first place, but if you like emissions and LTs aren't your thing, I would get them just be ready to get an adapter, or tap out the AIR/EGR fitting to retain emissions....
