pace setter Y-pipe clearance issues, anyone else have problems? solutions?

just got finished installing my new pace setter long tubes and y pipe, and man does it sound mean, but i am having problems with the clearance of the y pipe to that removable crossmember under the drive shaft (dont know what its called) it is touching it, and when the car is ideling it rattles like crazy and is starting to get annoying, is this an important structural part that i dont want to start hacking up? anyone else have this problem? if so how did u fix it? thanks guys

I had or might have this problem w/ mine, the pacesetter y pipe hits the torque arm, but my car is jacked up and i just installed the damn thing, but my cars suspension is completely lax so i think once i let my car down it will clear, what you can try is unbolting the u bolts for the y pipe and twist and turn them to acheive that 1/4" to half inch you need, jmo.

sorry lol i looked under the car today and the reason it is hitting is because it is hitting the frame just behind the driver side collector, i guess it has to be banged out a little, but since this thing was such a pita to put in and its so cold out, its not coming back out till the summer lol so i guess im going to have to live with the vibration for a while

I had the same problem on the Driver side frame brace. All I did was take the ypipe back off and beat it in alittle more w/ a rubber malot. You need to be careful though and not oval the end where it slides on to the collector.

yea thats what i figured i would do, what a pita to install though, the headers were easyer lol but since I live in new york and i just spent 4 days in negitive a bigilion degrees working on the car, taking the y pipe back off right now is sorta out of the question lol

had the same problem with the driver side y-pipe hitting the floor board. only thing was that i didnt notice it before i welded everything together. a cutout sure makes you forget about a lot of noises your car makes anyway, i noticed it when i had my cutout closed, and i was annoying. so i just scrapped everything and put 2.5" duals, now it sounds a lot better and i gained a few ponies. before i had my duals i ran 13.3@101 then i installed the x-pipe/bullets along with some skinnies and ran times in sig. what i liked the most was that it still has the same ground clearence as before even with the bullets. not really a solution to your problem but something you should think about. and the brace in the driveshaft tunnel that your talking about i just took it off, most people with duals take it off too. if you take it off your car isnt going to fall apart or anything.
