Pace Setter Midlength Help - hitting steering linkage

ok we installed the pace setter mid length coated headers & ypipe on my friends 95 Formula last week. The only problem we ran into is that when we went to put the steering linkage back in, there was no way in hell it was fitting. we took the driversside header back out and hammered in about a 1/2 inch in one spot to try to fit the linkage in. we finally got it back in but it still hits the header when you turn the wheel. we dont know how much further we should bang it in but what should we do. we're going to try grinding the steering linkage a little bit but dont want to make it unsafe. anybody have this problem and what did you do about it or what should we do? this doesnt seem right for them to make headers that are supposed to fit a specific car without modification but i guess we gotta deal with it. we checked and the are the right headers (model # 70-1335).

Re: Pace Setter Midlength Help - hitting steering linkage

It seems alot of rubbing/touching issues associated with header installations are caused by worn out motor mounts.
