overheating ! ! ! its a slow creep.
I've been battling persistant overheating problems. When I've bled the system at temp, it'l drain maybe a cup, then start sucking the coolant back into the bleeder?? Sound right? What could cause this? Is the pump bad (no leaks?) TIA
With the caveat that my 95 LT1 is installed in an 88 rx7 convertible, its been my experience that bleeding the air out is a slow and multi-step process. Iv'e installed brass valves from the hardware store to assist in the process.
The radiator is aluminum (3 core, and supposedly "adequate".) I'm running a 165 degree thermostat (I think?) and a 2200 cfm electric fan.
The water pump is mechanical, and if it doesn't leak, it theoretically pumps water. Any ideas?
Oh ya; i've programmed the computer to open the fan loop at 205 degrees. It creeps up to like 235.
double edit; the readings from my laptop (from the pcm) correspond to the dash gauge, leading me to believe that the sensors are working correctly.
thanks for any help here.
