Hey guys,
I seem to have a little problem with my z. I started my car and drove between 1 to 2 miles, and i noticed some weird things. I went to make a right turn and the power steering went out as if the car had stalled. I accelerated and the steering came back. One mile later, i tried to pull into a gas station and it happened again. I stopped the car at the pump and noticed smoke. I checked the temp guage and it read 200. I looked under my car and noticed a rather large puddle under it, plus a trail of coolant all the way out to the highway. I turned the ac on high, but didn't hear/ see/ feel the fans turn on. The fuse for the fans isn't blown ether. Does anyone know of any other ways to check the fans? If not them, what else could this be. The temp guage never hits the red. The car is stock with 105k. Please help me out everyone, I'm confused.

It will help us help you if you put what year and tranny your car is/has. Just put it in your signature and everyone will be able to see it.
You obviously have a coolant leak and this would be the first thing to address.
On my 94 I can jump the ALDL connector and can see if the fans are working or not.
This will not jump out diagnostic codes however.
If one fan is working but one is not it may be the fan motor has gone out and needs replaced.

Thats tougher cause I believe your 95 has an OBD1 computer with an OBD2 connector.
My scanner has an option to do a field test and it turns the fans on so you can see if both are working.
I would find out where you are leaking coolant from and fix that first thing and then find out which fan is not working, it may be both not working which might be a wiring problem.
Make sure both fans wiring harnesses are plugged in.

Same thing happened to me. What happends is when you get a coolant leak, it will actualy leak and wet the belt on the power steering pumb and will cause the belt to slip and seem like the pump is going. Same exact thing happened to me. Your pump should be fine, check out there that cooland leak is from, check the line that goes from the heater core to the left side of the water pump. That one sprung a pin hole leak 2 days ago.

I ran wires manually to the fans Grounded the black wires and ran a hot wire straight from the battery. Fan were fine. After checking all the fuses and testing the relays, I thought that the only other thing it could be was the temp sender (the one by the water pump). I replaced that (about $20), and all was well. My guess is that the old one was giving the PCM a false temp reading and the fans weren't switching on. (but mine were turning on when AC was engaged.).

Even at 200º, your fans are not going to turn on. Stock programming has them come on at 226º. Check the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump. If it leaks, the coolant goes directly onto the crank pulley and causes the belt to slip.
