Overheating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 1995 Z28 and recentely my A/C quit working allong with my radiator fans. This has caused me to overheat in traffic, have my fans just shorted out or is it something simple?

Re: Overheating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the fuses in the under-hood fuse box. Also check the fuse for the smog pump as it is also tied into the fan system.

jump the fans, pop out the relays, and i think its spots 1 and 5, and the fans will run constant when key is turn on to accy.

Re: Overheating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine told me an interesting theory, he said that if my coolant was out that the compressor would not come on, and if the compressor would not come on then the A/C fan in front of the radiator would not come on. Could this be true?

Re: Overheating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem with my 93 Z as well. It runs almost to the red then the fan will kick on and cool it all down. and my a/c and heater will not work either. and somtimes the coolant light will come on. But it has from what I understand a brand new radiator and coolant, water pump/pancake optispark, and I just put in a 160 thermostat in it. I sure hope this is my problem too.
