overhanging valve
I bought a set of low mileage heads that have been worked and was noticing that the intake valve overhangs the deck. Is this a problem? I don't really know much about heads and have never looked at any that were p/p these have 2.02 1.54 valves.

thats what I was hoping to hear, I haven't pulled my other heads off yet to compare them (waiting on gaskets) but was hoping to be about the same, the only thing that bothers me is I don't know how much, if any, my block has been decked.

Those are pretty large intake valves. Obviously the valve ports weren't relieved to accommodate the valves. The only difference it would make is that you are not getting any value for the larger valves, i.e. the larger valves are shrouding the valve seats and you are not getting maximum flow from the pockets to the cylinders. Probably reducing the size of the combustion chambers too because the protrusion of the valve is taking up space. JMHO
Probably a comon oversight when some are willing to pay for larger valves but pay no heed to sizing the pockets to acccommodate the oversized valves.
