Ok. 4 Main questions right now....

1) Im having a really rough stumble when i put throttle in my overdrive gear. it doesnt really do it in any other gear... ie... 1,2,D. Any ideas, ive been told it could be my OD gear in my tranny... any other ideas???

2) I have also been told it could be my fuel pressure. How would i go about checking this???

3) Ive burnt two wires to the same plug since i did my headers. Where can i buy over the valve wires and looms to hold them???

4)I think my opti is going bad, what is the best opti out there to buy as a replacement... price wise? and links please if possible.

I think thats it for this day of F-Body hell. lol.

Best opti
Since you have a 94 i would look at the MSD opti as it comes w/replaceable cap/rotor/is vented/ and much better materials than the factory junk.Btw are you getting any opti codes like 36/16?I had code 36 and the car had a terrible bog just off idle but now runs strong to redline,no codes, etc.Highly recommended as the price is slightly higher but you don,t want to have to do this job too many times

The MSD opti is NOT any better than stock, most of the knowledgable guys who tried i ended up going back to stock. The cap and rotor kit is good though and honestly it is likely that is all you need.

For some reason people refuse to treat the cap and rotor as maintenance items and then curse a perfectly good system as bad when their NEGLECT causes it to act up.

Get the wire issue sorted out before going after the opti...When I used to burn wires the lurching miss wouldnt be so pronounced until OD when the car was lugging along. I'd suspect if you fix the wires you'll find your problem...As far as optis go Im a big fan of the the Genuine AC Delco over anything else now...The MSD cap/rotor is a nice upgrade, but I have seen too many issues with the MSD opti unit...

I used Taylor Spiro-pros and the made for you wire looms for my OTVC set up...Been on for 3 years with no burnt wires...Taylor also makes a Thundervolt 8.2 wire that is supposed to be good and still fit the made for you looms...I hear that the MSDs work well, too...Its all a matter of preference...

yea. im looking at the thunderracing otvc kit to replace my current wire aet-up. but i found the cap and rotor kits... and theres a $215 difference between msd and acdelco.... how big a difference is the quality... i live in florida, so we get plenty of rain if that plays in with the vented cap thing... i would rather not spend an extra $215 if there isnt a crazy difference, but then again, i dont think i want to do this job again anytime soon while its still my dd... so i just need one more strong year basically. lol. just long enough to turn 18 and be outta hs.
