OVC or Stock routing

Im fixing to install my jet-hot lts. Would it be better to do OVC wires, or to put magnecors from thunderracing in the stock location. Which would be easier to do , and which would be the best? Thanx

I used stock routing, you can see a close up pic HERE. I didn't like the way the OVC routing looks, stock routing is a lot cleaner, plus it seems like less of a chance of it getting burnt. Those fire sleeves you see on the plug wires a must, either way you go (OVC or stock location). They are from Taylor and can be had from Thunder Racing or Summit or what have you. Stock routing is pretty easy, even with my big 8.5mm MSD wires. Just use a lot of zip ties

I also had the OVC kit from thunderracing, and after a while I swapped back for the normal routing with extra care, I have had normal routing for several months and have not burned a wire, I really dont like the clutter of a OVC kit!

well thanx guys. I think i might just try the magnecor in the stock location. Hmm i have not quite decided yet though. The wires will be about the same $$$$ wise either way.

I use the OVC kit from Thunder. Its worth it to me because the wires are so easy to move and/or disconnect/reconnect along with the ability to keep them from burning on the primaries without andy heat shielding or special treatment. I have pics of my setup in my sig.

I woudn't recommend the stock routing without firesleeves. It is just to close the the primaries. You may get away with it for a while, but soon enough you will burn one. I prefere the ovtc kit. I think it just makes it look better.

Which is easier to install, magnecor's in the stock location or OVC kits.

Also who all is running Magnecors with Jet-hot or any headers and what are your thoughts of them?

i agree 100%
easy install, easy to keep away from the primaries, no heat shielding needed (2 yrs no probs with mine)
plus when you need to remove them all you do is unhook from the plug, unhook from the opti and unscrew the valve cover bolt, and when reinsatlling them they just fall right back into place, no marking needed

I had the magnecor wires at first, and routed them in the stock location when I did my first header install. Guess what happened? the stupid pullies sliced right through one wire completely, and another wire got burnt by the jet hot coated mac shorty headers, and the wire had a firesleeve right where it got burnt! I now have jet hot long tubes and the made-for-you OTVC kit with MSD 8.5mm wires and they are safe from all heat wrapped in firesleeves. take my advice, stay away from the stock routing locations. (oh, and the magnecors were great wires while they lasted, but too damn expensive!)

Got the Red OTVC kit from Thunder and I love it. I can see all of the wires and they keep their distance from the pipes.

i had some kind of heat sleeves on my wires tha protect "for temperatures up to 1200 degrees." i also have 2 burnt wires where those sleeves are at. i just bought OVC hardware from summit and some new MSD wires.
