Ordered Magnaflow Cat-Back
Ordered Magnaflow Cat-Back
I ordered my Maganaflow Cat-Back ($323.84) including shipping from Proficient Performance last week. I'm really looking forward to getting this put on to see the sound and performance diffrence!!
You won't be dissapointed! That is an extremely well made and great sounding catback for the money. I would recommend welding the connections rather than exhaust clamps. I impacted the clamps as far downa s possible and it still leaked. A solid weld is the best way to go.
Enjoy!!

Yep, I'm sure you'll enjoy it -I know I like mine.
For future reference in case someone searches and comes up with this thread, you did overpay -be sure to contact the eBay sellers before buying and ask for their best price with no added "free" items. You shoudl be able to get it for about $280 shipped.

I just put mine on about 3 weeks ago and love it. Who cares about saving 40 bucks at most from someone you have never heard of on ebay. I got mine from thunder racing for like 323.00 without shipping. Are you plannin on puttin it on yourself?? If you do its probably goin to be a pain to get the old exhaust off. My friend had a lift in his garage and it prolly took like 3 hours to finish it off. The clamps make a tight fit, but i would also recommend tryin to get it welded. It would have a better finished look also with the welds, but all in all, love the system. Good luck and have fun with it.

Use a Sawzall to get the old system off, or be prepared to work 8 hours at sawing.
I had to rent a Sawzall, but I took me all of 15 minutes to get the old one off, about 30 minutes to get the new one up, another 30 to perfect the alignment and tighten, and a ton of time to try to get the tips even.
And then another 30 minutes a few weeks later to recheck bolt tightness. (They were all tight, but the instructions said to do it, so I did).
All done by putting the the rear up on stands. Easy stuff.
Two more comments:
The smell goes away.
It gets a little louder as it breaks in.
I love my Magnaflow. Only paid $280 shipped to my door. Can't touch that for a full-stainless system. The quality was outstanding! My only beef was that the clamps were a little wimpy...as mentioned. No big deal. Way better than the lousy flowmaster CB that I had on my last ride.

hey man. congratualations on getting a wonderful catback. i know you'll love it. I bought mine over a year ago and i only paid 280 shipped also, it came right from magnaflow. i love mine and it fits great and has never leaked. 2 of my clamps broke and yes they arent the best. but i called them and they sent me some brand new ones and they were all good then!. after i got it put on it was just aweseome. if your going from a stock exhaust to this catback your going to be amazed. i love the sound of it and it did get louder as it broke in. It is deep and gets loud when you get on it. its an excellent catback for the money. 3" i pipe and 3.5 inch tips. all stainless with a polished stainless steel muffler and the tips. i think just the tips arelike 80 bucks off ebay. anyway it looks great and youll love it. letus know how you like it.
is the magnaflow raspy at all? I have a MAC catback and wouldnt suggest it if it was for free. everytime i get off the gas it sounds like the most terrible exhaust in the world...lots of popping. i only have stock manifolds and a high flow cat too. I cant imagine when i get headers. I was looking for a nice deep tone with out the GMMG price...is magnaflow the answer?
I have two buddies with this catback on their 99 ls1 cars.It looks and sounds good.
I was going to buy a borla for my 96 z28 but darn borla has priced themselved out of the market to me and heard fit and getting tips straight and even etc could be a real bear. For the money borla charges it should be perfect. And don't like the square borla tips either.
So decided to order the magnaflow. It should be installed as soon as car is out of bodyshop.I will be taking it to my mufller shop buds and we usually change out the crappy muffler clamps for high quality band clamps, walker makes them and think they have both stainless and aluminized.I went with aluminized on my 99 ta with b and b system.I am not sure if aluminized is bad for the stainless though. But can always take them off.No welding needed and the band clamps seal excellent.
Still planning on cutout and electric cutout controller on my 96z too.I have a dmh one on my 99 and its my favorite mod.High quality and so much fun at the lights when that little annoying fart pipe honda tried to throw some revs at me.

www.performance-curve.com ask for scott. he treated me very well and has great communication. I think I paid $300 shipped. Thats not bad for a heavy *** exhaust coming from FL.
