Optispark Question

I have a '95 Z. I replaced the timing chain and the timing is still a little off. I know the timing marks are alighned and what not. My question is whether or not I could have messed up the distributor while it was off. On the '95 optispark it will only go on one way and isn't like the '94 and earlier which gets off when it is turned. I heard that there is still a way of installing the '95 wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

There are three notches on the back of the wheel on the opti, i beleive one of them is squared off and the other 2 are rounded, the one that is squared off is the one that goes onto the camshaft peg. I changed my timing cover gasket and when i put everything back together the timing sucked and it lost alot of power. I put a differant opti on it and it ran great so the opti might be bad as well. I hope this helps you out. Let me know if there is anything else you need info on as i have changed opti's about 3 times and know just about everything about them.
