Optispark question

When you purchase a new optispark does it include the cap and rotor??
I just bought a '94 unvented one from a LS1 boardmember. It is new and in perfect condition but even though he told me it was brand new in the box and complete, when it arrived today there was no cap or rotor. Is this normal?? You buy the cap and rotor separate?? Appreciate your help guys.

Thanks

You can either buy: the cap/rotor kit, the optispark itself, or the complete package.

Aha!! I see, my bad for not being specific and asking him if the cap and rotor was included. It's brand new and seems perfect, paid $150.00 shipped so I feel it was a fair deal.

Thanks again!!

I think you should have been told what you were getting. Probably an Autozone special, not so good.

Doesn't sound like a good deal to me if you got just the case. It will cost you more than a complete new unit if you have to buy the cap and rotor for it.

Mmmmm.... I rechecked my emails and PM's and I did ask previous to buying; "Is this a new, unused, complete and unvented opti" He replied that it was. I just emailed him and told him I had received the opti but that there was no cap or rotor and reminded him that I had asked before. Hopefully he'll answer promptly and it'll get resolved. Maybe he forgot to put them in!!

In my case what would you guys do?? Maybe "bite the bullet" and keep what you got or ask for a refund. (I paid thru my CC/Paypal) Also bear in mind this is a Prominent member, has a Paypal account and I even spoke to him on the phone and I have no reason or motive to doubt or think negative about him. Plus the opti arrived within 3 days in perfect conditions.

Thanks all for your responses!!

HELP!!! HELP!!!

Ok now I'm TOTALLY confused!!! I was looking at some pics in the net re Optis, what I received is a metal assembly with the splined shaft on one side (connects to the cam) it also HAS a plastic, black assembly where you would connect the plug wires (WOULD THIS BE THE CAP?!?!?!) with a "brownish" looking center area on the other side. I'm sorry guys but being from the "pre-historic" "points and condensor" era I'm totally unfamiliar with this.

Please help me out on this, I'll try to post a pics of what I got.

Here is the link to what I believe is a very helpful page, the part that I got looks exactly like the one in the very top, first photo in this page. Hope this helps.

Again thank you all for you help!!

From what you described it sounds like you have the complete opti unit.

Since you referenced the picture, that is a complete opti, and not a bad price, being it's a non vented one. See what you started.

Actually I'm very satisfied and happy with the transaction. He sent what he offered and sent it insured and with tracking number. It doesn't get any better.

Thanks all!!
