Optispark Coil Wire Question

Hey all,

I had a coil wire on the right side of my 1995 LT1 that connects to the optispark, but it burnt up and is no longer connected. I notice that the optispark has 9 connections on it. I guess that my question is, what would i call this wire when trying to order or buy it cause everywhere i go seems to not know what i'm talking about, or wants me to pay $80 for a new spark plug wire kit. Should this be something i could buy individually, and if anyone has an idea where/how much/and a possible part number on this you would be my saviour because I am currently without a car. Thank you for your responses.

Re: Optispark Coil Wire Question

Get a measurment on the length. Any local shop shoulbd be able to make one up for you, and you wont have to buy a whole set. take the old wire with you though so they can see what kind of ends you will need.

Re: Optispark Coil Wire Question

A GM dealer sells the wires individually (expensive, though).

Listed on my part numbers page:

1993-1995 coil wire GM p/n 12096466
AC-Delco part # 340R

Re: Optispark Coil Wire Question

Yes, I found out I could buy the entire Taylor wire kit for less than what GM wanted for the coil wire alone.

Even at dealer retail the coil wire is ~$25 (wholesale ~$13). You can buy a set of Taylor wires for that? Maybe a little exagerration , but I know what you mean about dealer pricing.
