Ok so, new engine....WAS RUNNING FINE. This is less than 2000 miles after the installation and uhh....Bad miss. It misses horribly at idle and not as much at high rpm. It feels like faulty wires, but why would that happen. I tried to do the wires today in the little time I did have and realized it is more of like a 3 hour project. Does this sound like an opti failure? I looked and saw it had a little bit of oil seepage on it from the engine install. Did not see a leaky water pump. It was def. moist with oil though. Is there an alternative to having an opti like a battery run MSD or something?? Or am I an idiot. Sorry, I am inexperienced and without a big garage and many tools. How about the MSD opti, is it almost proven to not **** up? JEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!! Also, are there any suggestions on changing the plug wires? I could not break open one of the clips seeing it was directly behind this AC piping. I hate these goddamn engine compartments and I hate OPTI'S! Sorry I'm freaking out, but it's natural if you have an LT1 I guess.

I don't know if you want to go with an alternative distributor. With these newer engines, I feel better using improved OEM parts, but stay on the same type of system. I would rather improve performance by upgrading the existing system.
That miss you describe I also had in my '94, and my friend in his '93 'bird. He had the opti changed and it went away. I am in process of changing mine. I bought aftermarket OEM parts. It has improved drains and ventilation. I will let you know if the miss goes away. I was totally floored when I saw the amount of rust inside the old dist'r. It looked sealed when I first saw it. I was surprised at the ease of the job. I heard horror stories.
As far as the plugs go, I suggest raise the car up to some stands. You will be on top and underneath. Disconnect the passanger motor mount bolt. Using a board as a cushion, and a floor jack, lift the motor by the oil pan. The engine will pivot on the driver side motor mount bolt and rock over. This will give you a world of room to do the passanger plugs and wires.

Thanks for the suggestions man. I will definetly do that when I go out to my buddies garage. Is there any 'good' place to be jacking the car up without bending the metal lip on the bottom edge (where they reccomend you do it when changing a tire)?
