I know there were many posts, but the search is not working right now..
I'm interested in all forged setup up to 1800$. What would you recommend? Which supplier?
In the future I'm going to super/turbo charge (of course after piston swap) but right now I'm just looking for reliable, lightweight N/A setup with LE2 combo. So I'd like to "prepare" the bottom end for heavier loads seen in the future.

IMO raise you budget a little more and look at Compstar, COMPLETE balanced rotating assemblies. The rods and Cranks are basically a Callies "budget" line and then Mahle pistons. Try to cheap out a little and buy Eagle and the fact their factory balance is poor will mean balancing time at the machine shop and will eat up the price difference.

Get your pistons so they are 0 deck (not in the hole or out of the hole at all). and follow Lloyds advice with the LE2 for what gasket to use. That will be a large part of keeping it reliable. and raise your budget A LOT. 1800$ is nothing, expect to spend 50% of that in machine charges alone. You should also look into at least getting studded caps if not 4 bolt splayed, also the quality of the cap is as important as whether it is 4 bolt or not so don't skimp out on the caps.

My comment on raising your budget a little was based on my thinking $1800 for rotating assembly alone no machineshop charges.

The $900 for machinework is probably ballpark if you do go to 4 bolt mains.

Thanks for responses.
You are correct - for that price I'm looking for rotating assembly only.
Are Compstar components better then Eagle (Compstar is only finished in Callies factory and produced somewhere overseas - China?) I now nothing about Eagle and their quality. Is it better to buy whole kit or maybe mix parts from different producers ? What rings would you recommend? I don't think that I'll ever go further then 800 FWHP.

rotating ***.

I am using a set up from fast toys proformance.

Eagle 4340 3.75 stroke crank

Eagle 6'' 4340 h-beam rods with arp l-19 bolts

srp forged flat tops.

clevite race bearings

Plasma moly rings file to fit

all int balanced

For $1700

i built a motor for my buddy with the same set up and his car dynos at 860rwhp (pro street twin turbo car). It has been together for about 2 years with not 1 problem. just my opinion

Eagle is cast/forged off shore too not sure about machining and most who actually measure say their machining is not too precise and their balancing leaves something to be desired too. They work, nothing wrong just IMO for little more money Compstar is a fairly signifigant step up and by the time you are done with the extra balancing the Eagle stuff will need I bet the price difference is very small.
The Compstar Speedpacks are also VERY complete rings, bearings all of it in one package and the pistons are Mahle forged coated so they are very good.

The Compstar stuff is my goal, not sure how soon the budget will support it.

Why is Lunati so expensive? $2999 from Thunder.
