Opti, where to get it?

So as the title says i need a new one. I was wondering where i can get one the cheapest. If i buy the complete assembly it does include the coil pack too, right? or do i have to buy it separately? I'm gonna go check out delco website, but if someone knows anything else please post it. i need it ASAP.
Thank you for your help!

Parts contacts.

The opti does not include any coil. You should not need a coil, unless yours is broken.

Aright thanks shoebox!

Ok another really newb question. Lets say i buy an opti, do i also have to buy a "cap and rotor kit" with it? Or does it come with the whole optispark assembly? If it doesnt, can i re-use the old one or you would recommend change it? if anyone could help, thanks!

Re: Opti, where to get it?

If you buy an opti from one of the people above it will be the complete unit.. If you buy one from Autozone etc. it will be just the optical portion and you'll have to buy the cap and rotor separate... That's the route I went, and if I had to do it over again, I'd buy the whole unit from one of the guys shoebox mentions on his site.

The GM opti is complete (cap/rotor/housing) and ready to bolt on.

How does the new MSD LT1 cap, rotor and housing compare? I've seen it in Summit for around $150. Is it superior to the GM Optispark for less $$?

The MSD unit is really just a superior dust cover and rotor at this point. So if you were starting with a brand new unit it may be worth it, but if your opti needs replacing the MSD piece won't help.

I spoke with them last week and they intend to make a complete bolt on replacement for the Opti, but they were un-sure of a release date.
