Opti and water pump drive seals?

Does the timing chain cover have to be off for me to remove and replace those 2 seals? Where do the 2 o-rings go?

No.

http://shbox.com/ci/water_pump.jpg O-rings for the w/p driveshaft (guessing you have a 94 based on your screen name).

Re: Opti and water pump drive seals?

I'm not sure on how to get the water pump and distributor seals out with the timing chain cover on. Anyone with any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: Opti and water pump drive seals?

It was helpful. Now I'm trying to find something the right size to slide the water pump seal on with. Someone suggested a sharpie, but it isn't big enough round.

You can clean up the w/p drive coupler and use it or [my favorite] a socket.
