Ok well i got the opti off and orderd the part from gm my firend works there. He got the cap. Its without the metal part. Is it what i need and can i just use the metal part from the other opti. Its just the cap that i got is that what i need or did i order the wrong thing. Please help

did you test to see if you where getting spark at the coil? most likely when an opti goes bad it is the optical eye that fails. If this is the case you got the wrong part. You should have bought the whole unit and just been done with it. But hopefully saving some money you got the right part. That never happens to me. I try and save money only to spend twice as much as I should have if I would just bought the right part in the first place.
