opti/ timing cover seal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have replaced this seal 7 different times on 3 different cars, every one of them leaks, not a huge leak but just enough to get messy, what am i doing wrong? 2 of the cars have new opti's and engines , whats the trick, its really been bugging me???

LOL if your refering to the very top seal, as in the waterpump seal.. then all i have for you my friend is a big BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHA

cause that seal sux my.... yea neways that thing sux dude! i finally got fed up with it and got an electric waterpump and bypassed it all together man...

good luck trying to do it any other way

im not completely sure its the water pump seal, i have been thinking it was the middle opti seal, i suppose it could be the smaller one anyone else have this awful problem?

The top seal (small one) is the waterpump drive shaft seal. Very common leak point. Placing dye in your oil and using a black light is a great way to confirm the leak location. The best way I've found to replace the seal is to use a magic marker cap (rounded plastic cap). Oil it up and slide the new seal into place. Make sure the inner seal wiper doesn't fold over. Tap it in with a socket.
