Opti swap = very easy job...

To Everyone who has always said that an opti install is a horrible job, needs to re-evaluate what easy and hard is. This was an extremly easy swap. Took my little brother and I all of about 4 hours on our very first time ever doing it. The most involved thing to the swap is pulling off the front pulley (balancer?), and that is only because it required a drive up to Autozone.
Just follow the online guide that is posted on this message board and it is a walk in the park. Good luck guys.

I've done my opti twice, and thought it was easy also.It was just time consuming. The hardest part i thought was scraping off the W.P. gaskets, and bleeding the air out of the coolant.

I got the front pully off with my hands and good healthy squirts of pb blaster I took mine apart one night and the next am put it back together, I agree, cleaning the old gaskets off was the hardest part, Even bleeding the coolant system wasnt to bad

LOL, try it in a 1 car townhouse garage!!! No room to maneuver. Hardest part for me was keeping myself from becoming a coolant sponge when I was pulling the water pump.

Even for me and my limited mechanical experience, easy job. Dealer won't be touching that part of the car again.

Everyone who's thinking the opti swap is hard should do a clutch swap all alone without a lift

I didn't think it was that hard either. I even got one of these http://www.geocities.com/cplca/FreaseBleeder.html Well worth the $15 IMO.
