Opti rebuild

I saw recently that someone had a page with the dissection of their Opti, pics and little description and all. I did a search and can't find it. I am looking into maybe rebuilding mine. If anyone has this page or knows where it is, I would appreciate it. Thanks,

Kyle

Yeah not worth it. I dont think the rebuild kit comes with the bearings just the cap and rotor. Not to mention you have to purchase a special inverted torx socket to take the opti apart that runs about $25.

You are gonna confuse people. I don't work at Vandevere. You mean Dal. I corrected you in that other thread where you said the same thing, but I guess you did not read it.

sorry

I thought when Dal was on the phone the other day he said "shoebox, that,s me" sorry about that anyway give this guy the phone number for DAL. I also want to say that buying the cap and rotor for what ever price is dumb when Dal can get the whole unit for 198.00 From my experience, the bearing is the thing that goes bad often. No way to get that seperate. You still have to buy the cap and rotor and need the stupid socket I had to pay for also.

Again sorry for the mix up shoe box. I swore he said that was him.

I knew I could count on you guys. I checked Orielly's and they ahave a rebuild kit for $136 with a lifetime warranty (borg warner parts) and a AC Delco rebuild for $151 with a 1 year warranty. Both looked pretty complete minus the Opti whhel and Optical sensor. I am not sure of the bearing though. The car runs and idles (a little jumpy) but there seems to be something rattling around inside. I have gone back and forth between Opti or Water pump and and pretty sure it is the Opti now. I was just trying to save a few $$ after spending about $2k on it in December. Thanks Shoebox for the link, That was the one I was looking for.

Those 'rebuilt' ones don't come with a cap and rotor tho do they?
Since they cost over 100 the GM one is a better deal I think...
