Angry opti? plug wires?

I have a 94 Z with headers, CAI, etc. Before I put on my pacesetters, my car ran like a champ. No problems whatsoever.then, about a month after I did headers, I noticed a slight miss, or bogging problem. Then one day it rained, and all hell broke loose. It started bogging, surging, rpms droped so low at idle, it would almost stall. So I found that my air filter was damp. I sealed it off so no water could get in. Next day, car is driving fine, then it happens. I looked into plug wires, and didnt visually see a problem, but a couple were close to the header. This problem seems to only happen when, or after it rains. I have stock wires, and sensors. I would think its the opti, but it started after header instalation. Any input is appreciated. Thx

Re: opti? plug wires?

you can check your wires really good and see if any of them got burned from the new headers. or a oxygen sensor

at night, in a dark location pop the hood with the car running and see if any of your wires are arcing.
probably the culprit.

Had the same thing happen on my last car after header install.....did the under the hood in the dark test. Looked like a nasty lighning storm under there! LOL Had 3 burnt wires that I couldn't see during the daytime. I'd check into that 1st.

Re: opti? plug wires?

Ok. I was out tonight in the dark checking for sparks. I didnt see any so I decided to go to a darker area(there was a streetlight shining right by me). I then revved my car, it actually ran decent this time, but I could still tell a slight miss. This time I look for a spark, and Voila! I barely caught it . It is on the passenger side, and it is hard to see if you arent looking. I guess thats my problems. Thank you to all who replied in this forum. Im goin for the OTVC wire kit from thunder racing. Hope it fixes it! Thanks again!
