Has anyone bought a cheap opti from Autozone with the lifetime warranty for $150?? Is it worth it or should I buy a GM or MSD opti for around $400-$450?
here is the problem I have SES Light/ Bad Miss

I had a race onetime and ended up soaking my opti.....my only choice was an autozone unit to be back the next day....It worked fine. When I used to work for a shop....if the shop buys it from autozone they cover labor too with the warrenty or they used to, just need an account there
Honestly, I voted for the MSD, but I would look into the Accel opti's. I got one last year, and its been working great. The quality is there, like the GM opti, but slightly upgraded from factory. Good unit.
A re-man opti from Autozone, O'Reillys, Advance, etc, etc... does not come with a cap or rotor

I wanna go with Accel or MSD but wat, pay $200-500 for a product that is new and not tested in long term durability and when it goes your out the money. I mean its not like your gonna gain some HP from this GREAT optispark. I will go autozone, why Lifetime warranty and you know you will be replacing this thing alot no matter which way you go. The only way to get out of it is LTCC. Otherwise, the thing that goes out on the Opti is the Optical sensor inside, if theyd just sell that damn thing alone wed get a new Destributor for $35 or so. But NO thats too easy.
Thanks for all the input guys, I will probably go with a a GM replacement opti. I will be gaining some power when I replace the opti because while I am in the Im gonna install the LT4 hotcam kit that has been sitting on my floor for about a month now, and if I have to do all the work to replace the opti I mine as well install the cam too
Actually your gaining HP from the cam not the opti but the GM isnt any better than the Autozone, had both, both last the same and you will replace either or plenty of times to come. You can get an Accel for $200.00 from JCwhitney so you should go there, cheapest and best option over that GM or autozone if you dont care about the warranty.

Accel is having major issues with their optis, in fact they are on factory hold. The first one I got had a warped pulse wheel that rubbed the sensor, I complained and they sent me an inspected replacement that actually has the bearing and not the bushing. So far so good.
If you get the Accel just make sure you inspectit and loctite the rotor screws.
I think the MSD is way too expensive, I would go with the GM and again just loctite the rotor screws.
