My car stuttered a few times and then shut off and wouldnt start. Came back about 4 hours later and it fired up and made it the 13 mile trip home. When I was about 10 miles into the trip it started to stutter again, but it made it. After that, it gave up and hasnt run since. I have been testing wires thinking it was the fuel pump relay, but it hasnt fixed the problem. So I turn to the opti and ICM.

I checked the voltage to the ICM on wires A and D and I have no voltage at either wire. The wire going to the PCM has continuity tho, so I dont think its a bad wire. Do you think the opti crapped out and it is the problem?

 

Did your SES light come on? If it was the opti as far as I know it should throw a code. Atleast mine did anyway. Have your car scanned if you can then go from there.

 

Eh, I dont have that luxury, its in a RX-7. But I will check the PCM tonight for any stored codes.

 

Has anyone checked their ICM before and not found voltage?

 

The code I found was " Low Resolution failure"


Any ideas?

 

Opti was still good. I had a couple wires that no longer had power gong to them and that pretty much shut down the ICM. So. all is well with me! Time to hook up the NX kit.
