opti or just cap & rotor?

I have been getting a high RPM miss ever since I spilled coolant all over the front of my motor. I am replacing the e-water pump with a stocker so I might as well address the opti while I'm in there. Can I just replace the cap & rotor or does the whole opti need to be replaced

IMHO never ever replace just the cap and rotor. If you are going to have it apart replace the whole thing with a new gm piece. Don't buy parts store reman crap either.

Jason will ship you one for @ $235 complete.

Remove your Opti, open it up and take a look inside to see what is wrong. Normally, you'll be able to see the problem (loose rotor, coolant, Etc). If it was the high or low resolution pulses (optical sensor), you would be getting a code.
