Do NOT get just cap and rotor if your opti is bad! Get a completely new OEM unit from Jason Cromer (go to Sam Taylor Buick for the phone number and other info.

I paid $190 shipped for my vented one a couple of months ago.

lol i dont know what kind of pptispark you guys have on your cars, but i know that on my 97 ta the opti is one solid piece and is ONLY a DEALER part. And a really exspensive one at that.

You have the same one that Sam95ZNoTop has. The cap and rotor are replaceable items.

Now that I notice you actually have a 1994 (your reference to the 1997 cap and rotor threw me off), yes you can use the 1997 cap, but you will have to plug off the port for the vacuum line that is on the cap. A direct replacemnet new GM opti for your car is ~$290 since it is the non-vented one.

Don't know what your symptoms are, but if you are getting any DTCs from the opti, replacing the cap and rotor is not going to fix it.

I'm having the same issue right now, 94Z M6. I ordered a non-vented from Jason and arrived in less than one week. Non vented Opti (280 ish) 1LE Elbow (48) Shipping $10 $338. My issue was ever since I drove it home in the rain (2 hr drive) the car ran like it had bad gas. Stutters on startup and when steady driving at 2K RPM it's choking. Basically it's getting worse and feels like the car has no power anymore. Thoughts?? Am I on the right track here? I planned on checking the wires first before I start pulling parts but may end up replacing anyway as I have it and the Opti was not replaced when the engine was built ~ 8-9K miles ago. Total Mileage on it is 69K. THANKS - Jamey
