Opti conversion question

Ive been researching and I noticed the price was $345 just about not including 95 Opti elec harness 12130319, Opti vacuum fitting 14082470 (couldnt find those using those part numbers) and not including 95 Cam Timing Gear 10206039, and Stock replacement timing chain 10128485 Since you must upgrade. Total the price comes to around $400 or so. If you upgrade to a heavy duty timing chain kit $245.95 your total price of the conversion is in the $600 area.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if I dont upgrade to the newer cam timing gear I can save and use anyone of the better opti upgrades like the Dynaspark or Delteq though I think I read it was still better to have a vented opti before getting a Del. Ill be stuck with a stock chain but Ill have a more reliable Opti. Or plan C. just stick with my non vented opti that only has 20 km on it. Anyone agree, disagree, suggestions?

You must change the cam gear. Did you factor in changing the cam, too?

Re: Opti conversion question

Stick with the non vented if ya aren't going to rebuild or use your bad opti for the injector's and change to a multi coil set up.Or go to all the trouble to put a distributor with duel pickups one for the plugs and one for injectors. That's a lot of trouble for something that goes out every 75-100 thousand miles---- if ya get a Delco.

Did factor that. I may go with a better cam anyways.

What's the total cost for everything needed to convert to a LS1 setup? I didnt even consider it a option because it cant be had in compltete form meaning bracets etc.
