Opti cap and rotor ?s
Opti cap and rotor ?s
I have a 94 Z28 with the older style opti, I just picked up a new cap and rotor and it has the vent tube for the vented opti.
Can I use this on my older style opti? Plug the vent up or something or should I take it back and try to get another?
It looks like the mounting points are the same, I would just need to plug the vent tube.

Thanks Shoebox.
I dont have any opti codes and the whole motor is getting replaced next year and I am having classic cap and rotor problems since I am not sure what opti I will end up with (I am leaning towards a vented conversion) I was just gonna replace the cap and rotor and hope it lasts for another 15 to 20k.
If I see some obvious major problems then I will spring for a new optical portion as well.
Will it be all right to plug the vent with a rubber nipple and then put some clear RTV around it to make sure no water gets in?
