OPTI Annoyance

Ok theres a vented Opti and a Non-vented Opti...correct.

I have a 94T/A which is supposed to take the Non-vented opti... I've been calling around for prices and even The famous "low priced" Caddy dealer in Fla wanted $280 for it!!! and the vented Opti is $190.... What kinda crap is this? Does this sound right to anyone?... talk about an expensive POS!

The non vented opti cost more..... You can get the vented on off jason for like $180 or something. Hell I can run down the road right now and pick it up for that price off of him. I live in Ft. walton beach. So i know it cheap. ANyway switch over to a vented opti and be happy

I have a 94 T/A also, I emailed Jason Cromer and it would be $288 shipped for the opti. We have the non-vented, more expensive opti.

this is just a guess but i think the non-vented is more expensive because they were so few non-vented opti cars sold over vented opti so GM didnt make that many.

FYI...
I was told that we can convert from non-vented to VENTED by changing a few parts on 93-94's...

Timing cover is one of them, change to 95-97 cover.

I don't remember what the other parts were, I'll find out if y'all want to know.

You also have to have the hole in the front of the cam made larger where the '95 opti seats itself. Not so cheap unless you're changing cams.
