Opposite Temp prob.....at least thats what i think
ok, its been a week now, after a call into jegs, ordered a 180 thermostat, replaced it, car still kicks SES light on right as it hits peak temp *180*, fans kick on and do NOT kick back off, no preformance differences, everything it running fine, could it be water pump? heater core? ne suggestions please guys help, only shop with OBD I around here is FitzMall, that would run $80 for them just 2 look at it...ive checked all sensors and all seem 2 be fine....
car is 94 z28, m6, with 52,000 on it *original*, no preformance mods, *there still sitting in the basement, LT's, SLP LM, ELE CUT,

I doubt if you WP is shot since the temp stabilizes at stat temp with the fans on. If it's stock and not leaking bad out the weep hole it is very likely fine. Sensor problems can cause the PCM to defalt to 'fan on'. Also, I think you go into closed loop about that temp. Could be something wrong with 'closed loop only' compononts, like O2s?
Around here we have Murray's, they have a tool loaner program where you can buy any tool they carry, (ie scanner) use it for as long as you want, then take it back for a full refund. See if you can find a parts store with that program around you, then drop a scanner on a credit card and return it when you are done. No money out of pocket.

You need to get it scanned before you start throwing more parts at it.
If you are still running stock fan temp then your peak operating temp is higher than 180*. More like 210*...Only problem being is I don't know if they have a OBDI cable... but it's definately worth the call!

180° is the stock thermostat rating.
