opinions wanted on T-top conversion on a true 30th camaro

My question in not can it be done, but would you personally do a T-topconversion on a white/hugger 30th camaro??

When i first bought my car, i was told it would be worth massive amounts of money "some day". So i was going to keep it stock. well now even in perfect stock condition, its prolly worth $9,000 witch is pathetic.

Its not stock anymore, the org motor is long gone.. lots of permanany mod etc...

I am looking for opinions, i mean i want to do this, but then again i want to be smart about this. Im not gunna do it if it mean i wont ever be able to sell the car or if everyone thinks its the stupidest thing in the world. Does anyone really think my car would be worth something some day anyway??

Also check out my post in the apperance section about a unique idea i have on retainin the factory look

Do it. Like you said, it's not 100% original anymore and I'm sure the 35th will be valued more, so I don't see why you shouldn't do it.
Plus, remember, it's your car. Do what you feel is right with it.

If it's done properly how would that hurt the value? It's not like that wasn't an option on them. I'd say 90% of the people out there would probably never be able to tell that it was added later, nor would they probably care that it was not "original". It's not like your putting in some hackjob aftermarket sunfroof or something. And with a different motor and lots of other mods I don't think this would matter. I'd say go for it

Given the 'not stock' condition of your car i wouldn't let the fact that its a 30th get in your way if thats what you want.

I don't think that personally i would want to go to the expense of chopping up the roof. If your really set on catching some rays and spending the money on that, do a targa conversion

Go ahead and do it dude. Besides, all '97 Camaros are 30th anniversary cars, only some were painted to commemorate it. If anything t-tops would make it more appealing to a prospective buyer. I personally would never buy an f-body that didn't have t-tops!

my cars not originally a 30th option packaged car but it still looks good with the orange stripes . Id love to find a set of the houndstooth leather seats tho , they are beautiful with the colored 30th stitch . I say go for it dude. Why you so set on ttops tho ? I never really use them as Im afraid if I do they will start to leak like my 84's lol. I know it seems unreasonable but hey !!! I hate water !!!

I realize all 97 cars are by a simple math equation made on the 30th year, but i was refering to the factory option Z4C cars.

You can never know if it will be worth bundles later on. However, the one car that will be is the LT4 97 30th ss. Your car being a numbered ss and not just one of the regular anniversary z28s make it worth more. But, you can never tell. As far as the ttop conversion goes, i would say do it. I want to do it on my car. I want help from someone who knows what they are doing before i would do it though. Cuz if u screw up, you have to buy a whole new roof (big $$$). It only costs about 400. The targa thing is not possible, the car was not designed for it( no frame). So eventually your car would start bending in the middle kind of like a hot dog bun. I would say go for the ttops, just say it was done by gm after production. I love those anniversay ss by the way. Just my .02 -Michael

Some people just get too hung up on cars. "I want to keep it stock, some day it will be worth lots" yay. If you plan on buying a car and just going to keep it stock and never drive it just give me the $xxxxx and I'll park the car in your driveway when Im not using it I say go for it, you can't take your car with you when you die so drive it like ya stole it!

So now that you decided that for him, I want to highjack your thread (with my appologies to camarossguy2) . To wit I want to say to hsyr, I love your signature. There is nothing worse than reading what cam, crank, thermostat, speakers, ash tray and bobble head some I@#$%s have. I love poking fun at signatures.

BTW what does hsyr mean????????

I plan on keeping my car forever, and Im going to try and keep my mods 'reversible.' but if youve done stuff motor-wise thats irreversible, I dont think it would matter any more.
