Opinions on SLP Shorties
personal experience with SLP shorties:
Install was kinda a pain, but I found if I removed the valvecover, steering shaft and the coolant temperature sensor on the drivers side they went in OK. Passengers side went in fine. I can reach every bolt except 2 with nothing more than a 3/8 wrench, the exceptions being the front passengers side under the alternator and the rear passengers side...however I can get a ratchet on both, so tightening bolts is a snap. I don't have protectors on any of my wires, and none are even close to burning as I am using Bosch Platinum plugs which I have found are extremely short (found this out on my last car with headers). Plug access isn't the best in the world, but its better than the stock manifolds by far, plus since my headers are stainles (and uncoated I might add) I don't need to worry about them rusting out. So far I am pretty happy with them

The SLP's have horrid plug access. I saw absolutely no change in ET after headers. 1 3/4 tube is too big for a stock LT1. 1 5/8" as all that is required. Sticking to my guns, BBK or Mac.

but i know that when i put my slp's on it was just abosolutly AMAZING in the difference over stock man. i have see an increase in power throughout the whle rpm range, and its slightly beefier tone is also great. and if you ever plan on doing any motor work, why not go ahead and get the 3/4 primes now?? true the plug access is a PAIN IN THE ****! but what a minor sacrifice. magius231 personal experience with SLP shorties:
