Opinions of this setup?

XE 227/233 cam with a 560/569 lift on a 1.6rr (114lsa)
7.2 Hardened Pushrods
3/8 Pro Magnum SA 1.6rr
CM-612 Valve springs (fit stock head without machining) good to .600” lift
Ultra Lightweight Chromoly Valve Spring Retainers
Hardened valve locks

This will be going on my daily driven full bolt-on/free mod car which is a 94 Trans Am M6. Plus I have some suspension work also (LCA's, relocation brackets, subframe connectors, revalved bilsteins soon).
Any guesstimates on HP, TQ, 1/4 will be accepted! I'm really just interested in what you guys think this cam can do because I don't understand the numbers very well.

Most importantly will the 114LSA hide the lope pretty well and will I need a tune? Would a mailorder tune work just as good? Thanks for any help and info.

You might as well go NSA 7/16" on the rockers and get hardened pushrods and guide plates. A few extra dollars for peace of mind.

I would have got the NSA but I got a better deal on the self aligning Pro Magnums so I went with them. Plus I don't race on the street at all, I just like for the power to be there if I need it.

Re: Opinions of this setup?

That's the duration I wanted but you should get more lift, around 575. The LSA doesn't affect lope much at all, I have a 226/231 on a 114 and it lopes very nicely, definitely noticible. May be less noticible with stock exhaust. You should definitely get NSA RR with guideplates, even if you don't race, they'll be more reliable in the long run. If by full bolt ons you mean you have an electric waterpump, you should get the cloyes double roller timing chain as well, if not, then get both, lol. Good luck, who recommended that cam to you? If you have an M6, I'd recommend a 112 LSA though.

Re: Opinions of this setup?

I would like to see what you mean by full bolt on car. Can you create a sig or something with specifics about your car. That would be the best way to get accurate guess's of what your car will put down. Uneducated optimistic guess with a cam only car with basic bolt ons would make me think around 310 rwhp. Also don't worry about getting SA or NSA rockers, it really doesn't matter. I think I remember reading in Popular Hot Rodding that they did a test and SA rockers actually controlled the spring better than NSA by like 500 rpm or something. In the same article that compared solid to hydraulic and roller versus flat tappet. Also had a blurb about beehive springs when they first came out.

Re: Opinions of this setup?

I run that Cam on a 112. Very nice cam with good driveability. It pulls very hard up top, and with the 4.10 gears I have (M6 car), it is still very strong down low. Look up Bryan Herter at PCM for less for a tune for the cam as he did mine, and it got rid of most of the cam surge. As others mentioned, you really should go with the NSA promag rockers with guideplates as many will say that you shouldn't run SA rockers above .550 lift. While you are changing the cam out, you should go ahead and do the electric wp with a double roller timing chain.
