Opinions on mufflers for True Duals

I was hoping to get some opinions on mufflers for a true dual set-up. I am using oval tubing so I am leaning a little toward the Spintech mufflers because they have the oval inlet/outlet so that will be one less thing to worry about. I am running cats and Pacesetter LT's on a 388 stroker. I do want the car to be loud, but not like a pick up truck with no muffler. I want it to sound good. For comparison, I really liked the sound of my Borla cat back that I just removed. I would like a similar sound just louder, if possible.

I know there are Magnaflow race mufflers, Dynomax bullets, spintech, Borla bullets.....the list goes on.

Please help! I want the thing to sound good and run good. Not rackety, not droning. What is a good muffler you guys have heard used with a similar application?

I used flowmaster 40 series and I love them. Got them for like 40 bucks on ebay.

Where did you put those? Aren't they kinda close to the ground?

Yeah, it's got to be a compact style. Clearance is an issue. I can not fit a regular style muffler due to ground clearance.

I ran my pipes the stock location, even gained some ground clearance over my single setup. The mufflers are welded just before the exhaust tips.

I don't know. I've got Intrax springs so I don't think I have the clearance that you do.

Nice car though.

Re: Opinions on mufflers for True Duals

If you want to run something other than a bullet or bullet-style muffler then what you could do is use a round-to-oval transition and use one of the oval mufflers from Flowmaster, Spintech or Borla. They are just 3" in height.

Re: Opinions on mufflers for True Duals

i love the xpipe and 2 bullets, but for a daily driver it can get loud if you have a cam, blower, or any kind of big power mods. I've heard the hooker aerochamber mufflers sound good on a true dual setup. I've never heard it for myself, but i'd love to.

hey man my car is also lowered. My exhaust has as much clearance is stock. Same as this but different mufflers. He even has a sound clip of his dyno run.
