I know a lot of people pull the "cone of silence" out of the SS exhaust systems because the cone is supposed to be restrictive... I'm curious if you all think collector inserts are just as restrictive.

With that said, I'm doing a little work on the true dual setup right now to improve the ground clearance and I was curious if these collector inserts would be an alternative to a muffler... I was using 3" glass packs/bullets.. BUT if I could just use these collector inserts and not worry about any other muffler that would make my life a lot simpler.

So with that said, what would be quieter 3" bullet 12" long or insert - 2 or 3 disk? What would be more restictive?

BTW, the inserts would be going into hooker LT's.

HERE is a link to some weld in collector inserts which, I imagine, look the same as those in the previous link.. since the other link doesn't have a picture maybe this will give you some idea of what I'm talking about.
