I know the Loudmouth is one of the loudest things on the street next to stright open exhaust. I was wondering though if you ran a Borla catback with the plate open would the volume of the Borla be around the same of the Loudmouth?

 

well not sure about borla but i have pacesetter lt's with a custom made x-pipe and 2 slp loudmouths dumped right before the rear axle and it sounds awesome. sounds like a nascar from what my friends say.

 

I've heard the borla with no restrictor on a procharged 94 355 with the CC305 and the ZZ9 cam installed. I've got the loudmouth with longtubes and off-road y-pipe on a procharged 96 with stock cam and mine is noticeably louder. But both will get a cops attention from a mile away!

 

I just got my LM Friday Oh boy it is LOUD and MEAN I really like it. Cant imagine how loud it is with Long Tubes...

 

I have 3" borla ypipe w/ cat and 3" borla catback with open plate, and is pretty loud.
I gained 7rwhp on the dyno with the open plate compared to the closed plate

I never did like the way either catback sounded. I had LM while a buddy of mine had the Borla both on stock cars basically. We often challenged eachother trying to see whos car was the loudest and I believe I won the vote but it was close.

Really if you want to be loud then get a cutout... its the loudest thing out there and best part is you can always cap it if you need to. The LM is a waste of money because once you get headers it will drone up into the cabin so bad you wont wanna drive your car anymore.

 

I had both.i had a borla on my 1st 93 with shorties and on my second i had the loudmouth with no resonator...and stock manifolds and it was ALOTT louder...when i took the exhaust off my car actually got quieter with no muffler.

 

Borla open and LM should sound pretty similar - neither have mufflers and both are significantly affected by LT headers and a cam (sound-wise).

 

i have borla and by far the loudmouth will be louder, but to me the LM sounds like $hit

 

The Borla has a unique sound. It's plenty loud enough. Any louder and you better wear earplugs.

 

When you run LT's with an ORY does the Borla get raspy like the loudmouth?

 

With the plate opened up, yes.

IMO both exhausts are to loud with LT's. The nice thing with the Borla is you cap it around town and open it up at the track.

how about just opened up? im running shorties to an offroad y-pipe cut out the cat and put in a cut out, you can hear that damn thing across town! and between shop time and parts i think i have just under $300 in the whole set up. no tone though, just loudness, im ditchin it for somethin a little more 'refined' in sound when i figure out what route im goin with the motor
