oops... didn't realize the A4 tranny will shift into 2ed at 100mph

cruising at about 105mph in 3ed to pass some guy i was goign to just tap it back up into OD when for some reason i brain farted and kicked it to 2ed... it shifted! as soon as i kicked it and it not even done being shifted i kicked it back up to OD and the RPM's seemed to jump to redline and not past.

didn't realize it was going to shift like that at 100mph...

and no, i'm not manually shifting the tranny, just once and awhile when i go to pass i'll kick it to D from OD so i have better throttle response.

sometimes i shift from D to 3 (yeah i have the stupid shift indicator since i have 2.73's!) when passing people. that way i don't have to give it full throttle, ya know? as long as the car ain't in over drive it will just drive right around people when passing and you can save a little gas. i only use full throttle passing when i want the guy to race (stangs, ricers, vipers, ect...ok so maybe not vipers)

I was screwing around once some years ago and downshifted to 2nd at about 80 and I did not know you could chirp the tires on deceleration. Didn,t seem to do any harm.
This is not a good thing by the way so try your best not to do this.

You can lock up the tires and create a cloud of smoke with a manual, so don't feel special
