Oops! Bent pushrod at the track.. lesson learned.
Replace your lifters when you do a cam install.. trust me. For some reason I did not when I did my cam swap at 75k miles. Yesterday at Bradenton Motorsports Park it looks like I dropped a lifter at 89k miles right after my burnout.
Bent a pushrod almost in half and ruined my head gasket as the bent pushrod rubbed against the gasket line up hole funny and turned it into an oval instead of a circular hole.
I believe my bottom end is probably safe, and I'm gonna go ahead and do a heads/cam package from either LE or Advanced Induction. Not sure if that dropped lifter would have hurt the cam.. but I might as well do a custom grind.
I like my old xe 224/230 tho, but it's time to go bigger I think....
Here's the bent pushrod, it was on the intake side.

Yikes, that is pretty nasty. It gives you a valid excuse though to do that heads/cam combo. though. How was the XE 224/230 cam. working for you? Was it pretty streetable?

With my cutout capped, you could hear a bit of lope coming out of the hooker catback but the 224/230 is an EXCELLENT cam, with great street manners.
Um, it looks like my lifter may not have failed. We did our intitial diagnosis at the track but we're not sure now. Could have been a rocker arm pop off. Not sure.. either way, head needs to come off.

I like to call the cloth that it's sitting on the "Blue rag of death" because every time I break a part and take a picture of it, it happens to be on one of those towels.

1racerdude -> heads are coming off so I'll be checking out the piston to make sure it's not hurt... I'm learning towards rocker fell off or lifter failure. Shouldn't be too many revs in the waterbox, rev limiter is set to 6300.

Oh well, I see what you guys mean, I'll look for those this time, thanks for the heads up!

Current plan of attack:
Pull passenger side head to check for any piston to valve contact. This is a worst case scenario and I doubt happened.
If a clean bill of health is found I'll be contacting LE for a LE2 package, I've decided to go with him due to the included custom cam and ferrara valves with beehives
Looking for some mid 11 times on motor soon. Once I get my drivetrain built up I'll spray this motor till it blows.
